Here are the full results for Monday Night RAW:
- IYO SKY defeated Roxanne Perez via pinfall with the O’Connor Roll.
- Royce Keys defeated Jimmy Uso via DQ thanks to Jacob Fatu.
- Chad Gable last eliminated Ethan Page via submission with the Ankle Lock to win a shot at the Men’s WWE Intercontinental Title.
We started the night off with the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. And the unstoppable monster was accompanied not just by Paul Heyman, but by several heavily armored Dallas police officers. Fear from Lesnar? The crowd initially popped for Lesnar’s music, but quickly moved to Oba (HOOOO) chants.
Why were the cops there tonight? Paul Heyman says it’s quite simple. Oba Femi. Heyman took the opportunity, thanks to the paid security, to call Oba Femi a dummy. A “really, really, really big dummy” who turned down his guaranteed championship match at SummerSlam to face Brock Lesnar.
Wait…turned down the shot? Apparently, as stated later on, Oba Femi was not delaying his guaranteed WWE Championship match. Oba Femi was no longer getting that title shot. Wow. Maybe Heyman was right. Hopefully, this was just a fumbling of words and not the truth going forward.
Brock Lesnar was now obsessed with Oba. He was obsessed with destroying Oba. Heyman allegedly secured a restraining order, a no-touch policy until SummerSlam, and expected Lesnar to follow it to the letter, just like Oba. Somehow, I doubted that.
The lights went out, and the crowd erupted for The Ruler of WWE. As Oba hit the stage, the police officers rolled into the ring to form a protective barrier around The Beast Incarnate. Femi wanted a fight tonight and demanded an explanation. Because he was so close, Femi violated his restraining order. Heyman gave the order to their private force, and Femi laid them all out.
The last one left was launched over the ropes with Oba’s Shot Put Bomb. Femi demanded to see the “Real” Beast, mocking him for being a coward. Femi addressed the title match comment Heyman made, stating that if he went for that shot, they both knew Lesnar would cost him. At WWE SummerSlam, in Hell in a Cell, Brock Lesnar could not run from Oba Femi.
We got the first of several Roman Reigns-Seth Rollins video packages here, highlighting the rise of the Shield. Jon Moxley was in it, technically, though they did their best to cut around him or show footage of him masked or from behind.
IYO SKY vs Roxanne Perez w/Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez
IYO SKY is weeks away from challenging for the WWE Women’s World Championship and aims to continue building momentum with a win over Roxanne Perez. The Prodigy and Liv Morgan had been… struggling to get along lately, and Michael Cole suggested throughout the match that a split was on the horizon.
SKY started strong, sending Roxxy to the floor for the suicide dive. Roxanne saw it coming and nearly knocked her out of her boots with a strong forearm to the jaw. SKY blocked a suplex on the apron, though, responding with a body slam. The springboard moonsault took Perez out while Liv Morgan screamed on the sidelines. Liv and Raquel Rodriguez took advantage of a Roxxy distraction, allowing them to take out the #1 contender behind Jessika Carr’s back.
During the break, Roxanne focused on the left leg of the former WWE Champion. The technician hoped to take out a large chunk of SKY’s offense ahead of her title bout with the Judgment Day leader. Was she a leader? Michael Cole and Corey Graves couldn’t agree on that.
SKY knocked Roxxy to the mat and set up for the Over the Moonsault. The Prodigy met her at the top, though, tripping her legs up and hanging her in a one-legged tree of woe. SKY’s leg was taking some serious damage. The Genius of the Sky got her feet up to block Roxxy’s moonsault, but it seemed to injure her leg even more.
The Bullet Train failed in the corner, and Roxxane caught IYO in a high-angle half-crab with pressure on the back of the knee. SKY escaped, catching Roxanne in the crossface. It wasn’t enough for the submission, but SKY did knock the taste out of her opponent with a big knee.
The Judgment Day, again, got in the way of her Over the Moonsault, but it didn’t matter. Roxxy went for an O’Connor Roll on the distracted SKY, only for the #1 contender to continue rolling and secure the win.
IYO SKY defeated Roxanne Perez via pinfall with the O’Connor Roll.
Grade: B-. Strong opener. Roxanne and IYO blend well together. A lot of interference, which, unfortunately, would be the status quo tonight.
After the match, WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Ruca rushes the ring to save IYO SKY from a beatdown. It was a valiant effort, but they laid her out before ganging up on SKY. After an ObLivion, Liv Morgan rocked SKY with a belt shot while the Judgment Day held her still.
A highlight package showed the Bloodline drama from WWE SmackDown, as Big Jimmy Uso secured a pin over Royce Keys thanks to the Bloodline and Solo Sikoa’s constant back-and-forth on the floor. Jacob Fatu laid out Solo and his former friend, Royce Keys, before threatening Solo. “Come to RAW before I have to come back here. And next time, I won’t stop.”
The Vision was out next. Last week, Maxxine Dupri secured the Men’s WWE World Tag Team Titles for Bron Breakker and Austin Theory, turning heel and hitting Angelo Dawkins with a low blow. Maxxine came out in typical heel-turn gear, and you know exactly what I mean by that.
Logan Paul introduced the group and thanked “The Vision Queen,” Maxxine Dupri. The former Alpha Academy member got “You Sold Out” chants from the WWE crowd as Akira Tozawa and Otis hit the stage.
Tozawa wanted to talk. Maxxine convinced the WWE World Tag Team Champions to give her that chance, as The Vision left the ring. Tozawa asked what Maxxine was doing, and he began to cry. She was a wonderful human being, and Austin Theory was the wrong guy for him.
Maxxine said she still loved them, but they gave her a choice. It was either them or Austin, an ultimatum they apparently gave her. She said that wasn’t fair. The former WWE MITB winner said he was bad news. Austin Theory mocked them, especially Otis, thinking that he was going to confess his love to Maxxine.
Theory told Otis to get his fat, greasy hands away from Maxxine, which led to the fight. Otis pulled Theory into the ring, leading to a 3-on-2 beatdown on the Alpha Academy. Tozawa was launched over the table, while Otis did his best to nearly turn things around until Maxxine Dupri got in the way.
A “Whoop that Trick” chant echoed out as Maxxine told Otis it could’ve been them if he’d been honest. The distraction allowed Theory to hit the low blow, and Maxxine’s true colors came out. “Did you EVER THINK it would be us?” Spear to Tozawa. Spear to Otis. Cole nearly called Maxxine a disgusting b—-, but stopped himself.
Royce Keys vs Jimmy Uso
During the break, Jimmy Uso came out to call out his little brother, Solo Sikoa. He said that Solo and Royce Keys got a beatdown from Big Jim and the Samoan Werewolf on WWE SmackDown. That was enough for Keys, who rushed Jim from behind. WWE RAW GM Adam Pearce made the match official.
We joined the match in progress, with Keys beating the Ucey out of Uso. Royce took Uso’s head off with a lariat. The multi-time WWE Tag Team Champion stunned the big man with an enziguri, then dropped a charging Keys onto the announcer’s desk with a Samoan Drop.
Back from the break, Keys dropped Uso with a big powerslam. As the big man fired up, we saw former WWE US Champion Jacob Fatu arrive in the parking deck. Fatu power-walked to the ring and slid in just as Uso kicked out of the Sky High sit-out spinebuster.
Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Jimmy Uso via DQ after interference from Jacob Fatu.
Grade: N/A. It started during the commercial break. Most of it happened during the breaks. Didn’t even get a finish.
Fatu wrapped a chair around Keys’ neck and set up for the Umaga hip attack. Solo Sikoa emerged, grabbed a mic, and stopped Fatu’s attack. Solo said he was being dumb, but always knew that blood was thicker than water. Sikoa said it was time, and he was coming home to the family. Solo threw the one up next to Jimmy and Jacob before twisting it into a Samoan Spike!
Big Jim took the Samoan Spike, then Solo jumped Fatu. Solo and Royce did their best against The Bloodline, but Fatu alone was enough to make it an uneven fight. LA Knight rushed the ring with a chair, and though Fatu wasn’t initially affected, the three-on-one assault sent Fatu to the floor with Jimmy. Knight was done with the games and the Bloodline, but realized he didn’t have to do it alone.
Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, and Jacob Fatu vs LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Solo Sikoa. Six-man tag at SummerSlam.
Backstage, Paul Heyman congratulated The Vision on their segment tonight. He was so impressed by Maxxine Dupri and the group…he wondered what they even needed him for. He walked away from The Vision, leaving the WWE World Tag Champions confused.
WWE RAW GM Adam Pearce told Oba Femi that the police officers and the restraining order were all fake. So he was free to attack Lesnar whenever. The Ruler took it as a win and told him to watch what happens at Hell in a Cell.
During the break. Bayley was called to the stage for a promo by Byron Saxton. The WWE Grand Slam Champion decided to do this in the ring, as she was going to call Lyra Valkyria out anyway. She did so, and Valkyria emerged completely disheveled. Cole claimed she looked like the sea hag from the Apple+ series Widow’s Bay.
Lyra said she didn’t need to apologize because Bayley was the one holding her back for an entire year. She’d been stabbed in the back as well, but it didn’t turn into Lyra’s entire personality. Valkyria was here to emotionally hurt Bayley, stating she never meant anything she said that made Bayley feel good. She was not a locker room leader. Her face didn’t deserve to be on the posters. She dragged everyone around her down. She was always the worst of the Four Horsewomen.
Bayley had had enough. Lyra was talking to the first-ever WWE Women’s Grand Slam Champion. She’s already talked to Adam Pearce, and it’s official. Bayley vs Lyra Valkyria at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend. A brawl ensued, with Lyra getting the better of Bayley and planting her with a Bayley-to-Belly.
After that, we got the next package surrounding Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. The Shield’s breakup. Because we’ve not seen this enough.
There was also a vignette teasing a large man. The date 8/3 was shown, so we should expect to see Enzo and Cass at SummerSlam.
Men’s WWE Intercontinental Championship #1 Contenders Gauntlet: Dirty Dominik Mysterio vs Joe Hendry vs Je’Von Evans
The AAA Mega Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio kicked off this #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match against the former NXT and TNA World Champion Joe Hendry. Thanks to JD McDonagh, Dom got the better of Joe early. Joe stopped the Three Amigos and powered through a tornado DDT to counter with a big suplex.
Hendry fired up on Mysterio and sent him flying with a fallaway slam. JD distracted Hendry again, allowing Dom to hit the 619 and the Frog Splash for a quick elimination.
Dirty Dominik Mysterio eliminated Joe Hendry via pinfall with the Frog Splash.
Je’Von Evans was the next man out, and Dominik was not exactly excited about this. The next few minutes took place during the break.
Dom seemed gassed. Je’Von flipped over a clothesline and hit his slingshot hurricanrana, sending Dom into the corner. Je’Von went up, but got crotched thanks to more Dom/JD shenanigans. We returned from the break as JD yanked Je’Von to the floor.
Je’Von rocked Dom with a suicide dive and rolled Dom back inside for the Red Dot, earning him a two-count. The young WWE stud set up for the OG Cutter, but JD distracted the referee again. Je’Von punched JD back to Jordan Devlin, but that allowed Dom to hit another 619.
As Dom moved up for the Frog Splash, Danhausen’s music hit. The Man of Many Curses rolled out on the Danhausenmobile and attempted to curse Dom. Unfortunately, the pyro went off on the wrong turnbuckle. The distraction was enough, as Je’Von hit the OG Cutter on Dominik Mysterio.
Je’Von Evans eliminated Dirty Dominik Mysterio via pinfall with the OG Cutter.
Next was former WWE NXT North American Champion Dragon Lee. Evans was superkicked out of a headstand in the corner, and the flying dragon connected with a big tope over the ropes. We cut to another break as Lee held the momentum.
Lee went for a big flying attack on the floor, but Je’Von sidestepped him, sending Lee crashing and burning in the timekeeper’s area with a hip toss. Evans followed with an over-the-barricade running press, but back inside the ring ate a superkick from Lee for a two-count. A “This is Awesome” chant broke out right before Dragon Lee hit a leaping hurricanrana onto the apron and to the floor.
A pretty obvious botch happened here, unfortunately, as Dragon Lee was unable to get his footing on the ropes for the Tornado DDT. He eventually spiked it, but the crowd was not at all affected. Another “This is Awesome” chant rang out. Rebound German suplex spiked Evans. The Young OG’s springboard attempt was blocked when Lee crotched him on the top rope, setting up the diving double stomp in the Tree of Woe.
Je’Von, though, managed to catch Lee with a victory roll, securing his second elimination.
Je’Von Evans eliminated Dragon Lee via pinfall with the victory roll.
Lee and Evans dapped each other up as they waited for the next competitor, Rusev. The former WWE US Champion came through the crowd, sending Evans into Lee and dumping Evans on his dome.
Rusev targeted Evans’s spine, weakening him for the Accolade. Evans went for a sunset flip, and though Rusev avoided the pin, it was Evans who dodged his hip drop. Evans sent him to the floor, then followed with a running press over the ropes. Red Dot, back in the ring, earned Evans a two-count.
Rusev trapped the Young OG in the Accolade, but couldn’t prevent him from reaching the ropes. The WWE crowd shot to their feet when Evans made it, but Rusev dragged him back and locked it in again. Evans stood up out of the hold and dropped the big man! Wow!!
Rusev countered an OG Cutter with an uppercut and locked in the Accolade for a third time.
Rusev eliminated Je’Von Evans via submission with the Accolade.
Chad Gable rushed the ring and bounced Rusev around with two German suplexes and an overhead belly-to-belly. Another ad break.
We came back to see Gable and Rusev trading right hands. The former El Grande Americano went for an Angle Slam, only for Rusev to rake the eyes and rock him with a Machka Kick. Accolade again!!
Gable powered out of the hold, dropped Rusev high on his neck on the top turnbuckle, then followed up with a victory roll! Rusev was out!
Chad Gable eliminated Rusev via pinfall with the victory roll.
As Ethan Page strolled down to the ring, Rusev stretched Gable with the Accolade. Rusev slapped All Ego on the chest and told him to “go get him.” A big boot turned Gable inside out, but Page couldn’t get the W.
“Stay down and make this easy for me!” Gable wasn’t gonna do that. Gable knocked Page down off the top and went for the moonsault. Ethan got his foot up, but Gable expected it, countering and going for the ankle lock.
Ethan escaped and hit the Confidence Breaker for another two-count. All Ego went for his Bret’s Rope powerslam, but Gable slipped out, pulling him to the mat for the ankle lock!! Page can’t escape!!
Chad Gable defeated Ethan Page via pinfall with the Ankle Lock, earning a Men’s WWE Intercontinental Title match at WWE SummerSlam.
Grade: B-. Hendry’s time in the match was, unfortunately, short. Dirty Dom’s was so full of interference that he barely got started himself. But once we got to Je’Von vs Dragon Lee, this picked up and didn’t stop.
After the match, the crowd got on their feet for Chad Gable. WWE RAW commentary claimed that Penta was the one who sent Gable on his El Grande Americano spiral, and Gable could fulfill his destiny and finish his story at SummerSlam.
Men’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship Contract Signing
WWE RAW GM Adam Pearce introduced the OTC himself, Roman Reigns. The Dallas crowd acknowledged the World Heavyweight Champion moments before serenading Seth Rollins to the ring.
Rollins states he’s Roman’s #1 hater, and Roman laughs it off. “That’s the only thing he’s number one at.” According to Reigns, Rollins had brainwashed the fans into thinking the two were on the same level. At SummerSlam, once and for all, he’d prove what being number one really looked like. They both signed on the dotted line, and Seth bounced. “Brother, I’ll see you the next time you want to show up for work.”
Reigns sat back, confused. “That’s it? You’re just gonna sign and run?” The Tribal Chief said Rollins couldn’t handle the pressure of being the top dog, like most who have come for Reigns’ head. That was enough to goad Rollins back in the ring. “You got something to say? Say it.”
Why were they different? Rollins still needed the MITB to win a WWE Title, and he even needed to fake an injury to use it. Reigns was number one and would always be number one, and demanded Rollins “acknowledge it, b****.” Rollins seemed upset, but, according to him, it was because these remarks had been played out.
The former champion said whatever Reigns could throw in his face, he’d already thought of. They weren’t running the same race, and he had to be proud of who he was. He was proud of what he fought for. The Visionary, the Revolutionary Seth “Freakin” Rollins, was not backing down from Reigns. “I am so glad that I am not you.”
Rollins threw the first strike and stomped Reigns out in the corner. “I know who I am, you piece of s***!!” Rollins dominated the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and almost left on that note. Instead, he went for a Curb Stomp. Mistake.
Roman Reigns rocked Rollins with the Superman Punch, then pulled the table up. As he went for a powerbomb, Rollins cracked him in the head with the microphone. Pedigree!! Curb Stomp!! The night ended with Rollins’ head held high.
Overall Grade: C. Three matches, all with way too much interference. Long promo segments that could’ve been trimmed down to make room for something else. Add to that the mixed messages regarding Oba Femi’s title shot, and this was, at best, average. Thankfully, the opening bout was great despite the issues; the last half of the gauntlet was fun, and the ending segment felt big-time.
