The Career Killer’s actions were a shock to the WWE Universe, but he has shared an update on Instagram in which he explains his actions.

Gunther explained that “My hand got forced” since he appears to have been forced to step in and take matters into his own hands after Sami Zayn won the World Championship.

Zayn’s win was something that upset Gunther, and he knew what he was doing when he took out Rhodes before he then warned Zayn. It’s clear that this will lead to a match between the two men in the coming weeks.

Gunther has issues with Nick Aldis

WWE has a number of issues at present, since he has picked a fight with Nick Aldis, who was placed on administrative leave. The SmackDown General Manager was on RAW and had some choice words for The Ring General as their issues continued.

There was speculation that The Career Killer could be set to face Aldis at SummerSlam, but RAW appeared to be pushing a new narrative with Cody Rhodes. Rhodes was clearly injured from the attack on RAW, but it’s unclear if that will now write him off TV or if this will only serve to push his desire for a match forward.

Rhodes and The Ring General have collided several times for the World Championship, but it’s now around the waist of CM Punk. which means that any matches between the two men moving forward will not be for the title. Punk and Sami Zayn could still collide over the title heading into SummerSlam since he has an automatic rematch and could decide to cash it in at the Biggest Party of the Summer, depending on if Punk returns to the company following his win.
