Rhea Ripley vs Rob Gronkowski was scheduled, but it has been canceled due to her injury, as per WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select. Fanatics Fest sees celebrities go up against each other, being put in different physical games as they compete against each other, but not in actual matches where they wrestle each other. Unfortunately, Ripley’s injury is severe enough that she was not able to be a part of the planned games with Rob Gronkowski.

Instead, the star is still going to be present at Fanatics Fest, and has already been part of the Rhea Ripley lookalike contest, and will be present for other fan opportunities, but just not ones where she has to be physically involved.

This is only the latest thing that the injury has spoiled for Ripley. As the WWE Women’s Champion, the star has been unable to defend the title since May 31, when she faced Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy. This is also her last broadcast appearance, with her last match altogether taking place on June 3 in a live event.

As a result, she has mostly been off TV and has no feuds heading into SummerSlam. Even though it’s far from confirmed at this time, the star appears not to be wrestling unless the injury vastly improves. As of now, there’s no certainty as to whether that will happen in time for the event, and if the star will be stripped of the title by WWE, which is something they have discussed.
