#5. Tommaso Ciampa paid tribute to The New Day after their WWE departure
According to multiple reports, The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have parted ways with WWE. The stars were reportedly asked to restructure their contract according to TKO deals, but they turned them down and decided to leave the Stamford-based promotion.
Following this news, Tommaso Ciampa took to Instagram to pay tribute to The New Day. He uploaded several throwback pictures featuring Kofi Kingston. In the post’s caption, Ciampa praised Kingston for his leadership inside and outside the ring. He also mentioned that he believed Kofi and Xavier are “special talents” and “special men.”
“Inside the ring, he’s one of the absolute best. No denying it. Outside of the ring, he’s Mount Rushmore material. As a leader, a friend, a family man, a co-worker, you name it. Kofi is a rare breed in this industry. Matter of fact, he’s one of a kind in life. I feel lucky to have had a front row seat throughout so much of his journey, from the Jamaican days in Chaotic and developmental, to main roster, to Kofi Mania and beyond… he never changed. Not once. Not for a second. Kofi and Woods (don’t mind our awful quality Super 8 photo!) are special talents, but even more so, they are special men.”
The AEW star congratulated The New Day for their incredible WWE careers and mentioned that he couldn’t wait to see what they have planned next.
“Congrats to both guys on such incredible careers. I can’t wait to see the next chapter. I often told myself throughout my career to ‘take the photo’… It’s something I’m becoming better at as of late. But I do regret missing so many great photo opportunities early on. Anyways, scrolling through my phone, and I came across these 5. Ivar (Handsome), Kofi, and I all trained at the same school twenty-plus years ago (Kenny too)… what a journey! Woods and I first crossed paths at the ECWA Super 8 about 16 years ago. And the other two photos were taken right after TLC SummerSlam. I think the photos and the cast of characters speak for themselves. Lots of fantastic performers and people. 🖤” Ciampa wrote.
#4. Eric Bischoff believes a released WWE star will return soon
WWE has released several big stars, including Kairi Sane, The Motor City Machine Guns, and The Wyatt Sicks, as part of their latest budget cuts. However, Eric Bischoff feels a popular name could return to the company soon.
During a recent edition of the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff said that he believed the Triple H-led creative team’s presentation of Uncle Howdy and The Wyatt Sicks was “a mess.”
He added that he felt Howdy would return to the Stamford-based promotion within a year.
“I think the presentation was a mess… trying to recreate something like that very seldom is as good as the original. They had nothing to do with talent. It had everything to do with the presentation. Between six months to twelve months, he’ll be back… It’s just a matter of figuring out something that will work. He’s a smart kid… he’s been around the business his whole life… he’s young, he’s talented. He got saddled with a bad idea… all the intentions were right, but the idea wasn’t. So now it’s back to the drawing board”. – Eric Bischoff said.
#3. WWE star offers John Cena “human dollars” for in-ring return
John Cena made it clear during his retirement tour last year that he won’t return to in-ring competition after his final match on December 13, 2025. However, despite this, many fans and WWE star Danhausen want to see him return to the squared circle.
Danhausen is currently in a heated feud with The Miz and Kit Wilson. On the latest edition of SmackDown, the free agent demanded Nick Aldis for a Tag Team Match against the two stars. Aldis told the former AEW star that if he could find an opponent before Backlash, then he would get his match.
The star recently took to X/Twitter to send a message to several legends, including John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The Undertaker, AJ Styles, and Stone Cold Steve Austin, offering them “400 human dollars” to return from retirement and partner with him at Backlash.
“Hello @ShawnMichaels @TripleH @undertaker @AJStylesOrg @JohnCena @steveaustinBSR @StardustWWELegend @Kuuuuuuurgan @NakedMideon @PapaShango How does 400 human dollars sound to come out of retirements and team with Danhausen?!”

#2. Female star confirmed her WWE departure
WWE LFG star Sirena Linton recently took to X/Twitter to confirm her release from the Stamford-based promotion. The star revealed that she was part of the mass WWE departures, calling the news “gut-wrenching.”
“It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share I was part of the 20+ mass departures from WWE. Although this news has been gut-wrenching, I know I have done absolutely everything in my power to show how badly I wanted this and to make my dreams a reality,” she wrote.
She added that, despite this setback, she was proud of achieving several things in her life, including her LFG journey, which lasted for three seasons.
“I carry a list of accomplishments I am deeply proud of. I am a first-generation Mexican American college graduate with a Master’s Degree. I went from being a walk-on to becoming an NCAA All-American gymnast and competing in two National Championships. I walked through the doors of WWE straight out of college and, within a year and a half-with zero prior experience-was featured across 3 seasons of a show. I take tremendous pride in my work ethic, my passion, my resilience, my vulnerability, my talent, and most importantly, my character. I work relentlessly, and I know exactly who I am,” she added.
#1. 3-time WWE champion announced his heartbreaking retirement
3-time WWE World Tag Team Champion Trevor Murdoch announced his retirement from in-ring competition on a recent edition of NWA POWERRR. The star noted that he wasn’t sure if he could wrestle anymore and do justice to the fans with his performances.
“I’m not sure if I can do this anymore. I’ve been wrestling for 27 years, and I have seen guys that come in here, and they’re only here for a payday. They don’t give the fans what they deserve. And I always told myself that if I ever got to that point, I wasn’t gonna be that guy. I don’t want to embarrass myself. I don’t want to embarrass my family. I don’t want to embarrass Harley Race,” Trevor Murdoch said.
After announcing his retirement, Murdoch thanked the fans for always believing in him for 27 years before crediting Patrick Corgan for believing in him.
“So at this moment, I’m announcing my retirement from pro wrestling. I wanna thank the fans, I wanna thank you guys. Because of you guys, I’ve been able to put two of my kids through college. It’s all good, you know what I mean? For a fat guy from a small town, 27 years ain’t bad. I wanna thank one more dude. He doesn’t get enough credit. His name’s William Patrick Corgan. Billy, you believed in me and gave me an opportunity when even wrestling didn’t want me. You extended my career for seven years, man. I can’t never give that back to you. All I can say is thank you, man. Thank you so much.”
It remains to be seen what Trevor Murdoch has planned for his future in the professional wrestling world.
