Cathy Kelley has also pointed out the rift between the two, and jokingly fired shots at IYO SKY and even created a hilarious reel with The Genius of The Sky. In an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, the host asked Kelley about the current status of her friendship/relationship with the WWE Women’s Champion.

The RAW interviewer admitted she’s still very close to Rhea Ripley despite being on separate brands under Triple H’s creative regime. However, Kelley also added that Mami might now be closer to IYO SKY after they spent over half a year as a tag team in the division.

Rhea Ripley started her wrestling journey in Australia before she became a notable name in the industry with her work on NXT UK. After her run on the developmental brand, Mami didn’t look back and eventually became one of the biggest stars in the modern era. However, there was a time when her nonna lost it and wanted to fight one of her opponents.

Speaking on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, the current WWE Women’s Champion recalled a time when she took a scary chair shot to the head, and her family, including her grandmother, who was in attendance, didn’t like it. Mami revealed that her nonna wanted to get in the ring and fight her opponent, but luckily, it didn’t happen.

Earlier this month, Rhea Ripley dedicated her win over Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy to her grandparents. After the event, she appeared on Friday Night SmackDown, but wasn’t able to wrestle due to a knee issue. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for Mami on the blue brand.
