During the contract signing between Gunther and Nick Aldis, it was clearly mentioned that the latter would have to step down from his SmackDown General Manager position if he competes at SummerSlam. It appeared as if WWE was officially relieving Aldis of his corporate duties and launching him as a full-time wrestler. However, those aspirations came to an end when Wade Barrett made a big statement later on in the show.

The SmackDown commentator stated that Nick Aldis is temporarily relinquishing his position and would resume his duties after SummerSlam. Well, it wasn’t just a random statement. There have been numerous instances when the commentators subtly foreshadowed upcoming developments. Whether deliberately or not, Barrett may have given away that Aldis will not continue as a wrestler after his match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Triple H may use Nick Aldis’ in-ring prowess for special occasions

Triple H is considered one of the smartest minds in the world of pro wrestling, and he has proved it time and time again. His ability to use superstars on television based on their unique abilities and distinct talent has often received praise. The Game is expected to do the same with Nick Aldis, who is set to battle Gunther at SummerSlam.

Ever since Aldis arrived in WWE, fans had been clamoring to see him compete in the ring. There have been several instances when it was close to happening. However, Triple H reserved it for the big stage and the perfect opponent that could derive the most out of it. But it looks like the creative team may use Nick Aldis as a wrestler very strategically.
