The Ruler is a powerhouse and a future main-eventer. However, if WWE is looking for the true successor to Lesnar’s throne, a hybrid athlete with legitimate big-fight feel and a terrifying mean streak, perhaps there is only one answer. It isn’t the Nigerian powerhouse, it’s Bron Breakker.
Oba Femi remains a generational talent, and his victory over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 appeared to confirm that he belongs among the top-tier stars. However, it feels like Femi embodies a particular archetype: the immovable object. As The Ruler, he is characterized by his stoic demeanor and immense strength, a dominant force who commands space and influence through his sheer size and presence.
Brock Lesnar, however, was never just about size. The Beast Incarnate was defined by a terrifying combination of amateur wrestling, explosive speed, and an aura of unpredictability. While Oba Femi has the strength, many believe he lacks the out-of-control intensity that made Lesnar a box-office attraction for two decades.
This Monday on RAW after ‘Mania 42, the WWE Universe saw Bron Breakker absolutely brutalize Seth Rollins during an in-ring promo. Similar to Lesnar, The Dog of WWE is a former high-level football player with a collegiate wrestling background.
When he hits the ropes, he doesn’t just run, he explodes. His Spear is arguably the most protected and devastating move in the company today, reminiscent of The Best Incarnate’s early-career Gore. Given this, Bron Breakker is likely the best person to take the place of Brock Lesnar in WWE instead of Oba Femi.
However, this angle is speculative, and only time will tell who eventually takes Lesnar’s place in the months ahead on WWE television.
Bron Breakker taking Brock Lesnar’s place in WWE could be a masterstroke
The rumor mill suggests Gunther may be the one to officially retire Lesnar in a final match in Minneapolis later this year. While that makes sense for The Ring General’s “Career Killer” persona, the vacuum left by Lesnar’s absence in the special attraction slot won’t be filled by the Austrian.
The Stamford-based promotion needs a man who can show up, destroy top stars, and leave fans wondering if the ring is even safe. Perhaps this is where Bron Breakker comes in. By potentially taking Lesnar’s place, Breakker will automatically be positioned at the top of the division and also in the main event scene.
This would help The Vision regain its place as the most dangerous faction on RAW. That’s not all. Since The Dog of WWE has a history with World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, it makes it easier for Triple H and Co. to kick off a compelling storyline where Breakker could challenge Reigns for the title.
While this angle might sound intriguing, it is also speculative at this point.
