“Then he (Big E) said talk to Peter Rosenberg as well. So we contacted Kaz, then we contacted Rosenberg, and we were talking to him for a little bit, explaining the whole situation to him. He’s like alright, I’m gonna make some calls. He knows Ferg, he’s like ‘I’m gonna call Ferg, I’ll call his manager’, and literally within like 20 minutes he’s like ‘yep they’re down, they’re gonna talk to the right people,'” said Kofi. Kofi reveals that WWE asked The New Day to take more than a 50% pay cut

Former WWE star Kofi revealed that the promotion actually asked him to take a bigger pay cut than half of his salary.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, the 45-year-old shared that the pay cut offered was more than 50% and that they also decided to go to AEW because they knew their work would be appreciated.

“It was more than 50%. More than a lot of people know. The compensation is a big part of it, for sure, but the bigger part is being able to go out and live your dream the way you want to live it and be appreciated for it. We took it all into consideration, and we knew this was the only path to take. It was scary at times with the uncertainty and everything, but sometimes you just have to go through it,” he revealed.
