Less than a year into his debut, JC Mateo, alongside Tonga Loa, has been quietly let go. This leaves Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Talla Tonga as the remaining members of the group. A few hours back, Sikoa took to his Instagram to share a picture with Mateo and Loa, and termed them “Family Forever.”

It remains to be seen how WWE books MFT going forward, as the absence of two of its members is sure to hurt their immediate prospects. That said, each member of the stable is immensely talented and could step up in these dire times.

What can JC Mateo and Tonga Loa do after leaving WWE?

It’s safe to assume both Mateo and Loa could generate considerable interest once they are free of their non-compete clause. JC Mateo, especially, was a big star in NJPW, and with the recent exodus of several high-profile stars from the Japanese promotion, he could potentially return to his former stomping grounds.

Apart from that, AEW, where he has made a handful of appearances in the past, could also be a landing spot if Tony Khan has something in mind for him. The case for Tonga Loa is much trickier, as he was primarily a tag team wrestler with Tama Tonga, and now he might have to navigate uncharted waters without him.

Apart from the two, The New Day’s Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston have also left WWE after spending most of their careers with the company.
