Rey Mysterio has personally endorsed a 24-year-old up-and-coming WWE superstar and believes that he has something special. As the AAA General Manager, he even put him in a position to become a Champion in two weeks.
This week on WWE NXT, Rey Mysterio spoke to General Manager Robert Stone, asking him what was next for the AAA-NXT relationship. Mysterio has been making moves and hasn’t just been sitting around, only making matches. He is building relationships, which is exactly why he spoke to Roman Reigns a little over a week ago to set up a World Heavyweight Championship defense in Mexico. That tournament will feature multiple superstars, with Penta knocking out Laredo Kid to advance to the semi-finals. His brother, Rey Fenix, is also on the other side of the bracket. It’s a fresh and exciting way to give stars like Roman Reigns brand-new challengers, and there is already a lot of buzz around it. So that’s why Rey Mysterio was interested in knowing how he could create further buzz. His idea was to have Rey Fenix defend the AAA Cruiserweight Championship on NXT two weeks from now, which is basically the end of the month.
