“By the way, the plan was always how it ended up in Philly two years ago. Sometimes — it’s a pre-determined outcome in wrestling. You want to throw the fans off, you want to let things bake, and then, boom, it ends up the way that we wanted it to end up. It never changed. That was just online rumors and gossip that we were changing — it never changed. We convinced Dwayne Johnson to come back. He’s on our board of directors. It was a tag team match,” claimed Khan. Cody Rhodes is the reigning Undisputed WWE Champion and successfully defended the title against Gunther at Clash in Italy. Roman Reigns captured the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania and got the better of Jacob Fatu in a Tribal Combat match at the PLE this past Sunday night.
Former WWE star comments on The Rock’s ego
Wrestling legend Ahmed Johnson recently shared his thoughts on The Rock and suggested that becoming a major star got to his head.
In an interview with Inside The Ropes, Johnson suggested that The Final Boss’s behavior changed once he started to get a reaction from the WWE Universe.
“It took a little while, but once they started adding him into play with being the leader of the Nation over Faarooq, his head just swelled up man, you couldn’t tell him nothing, brother,” he added.
It will be fascinating to see when The Rock decides to make his return to the promotion.
