Kyle Busch and John Hunter Nemechek’s wreck at Texas Motor Speedway has stolen the headlines. Busch and Nemechek went into the wall exiting Turn 2 after the No. 8 car made contact with the No. 42 car. Then, the Richard Childress Racing driver wrecked the No. 42 car in Turn 3, but it might have been due to a damaged vehicle.

Following the race, Nemechek called out Busch for the wreck at Texas. However, Busch addressed the accident, bringing new data to the table on social media.

“I did not start this,” Busch posted on X. “[John Hunter Nemechek] apparently doesn’t know where the RS of his car is and where he is in relation to the outside wall. There was 2 feet outside him, and I was judging my left side tires to the hash marks. Always know who you’re racing beside.”

Based on the data, Busch was slightly going up the track while Nemechek was going straight with room to the wall. The No. 42 car had more room to the wall than the driver in front of him. It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out and whether NASCAR believes a penalty is warranted this week.
