Myers joined the company’s main roster in 2007, teaming alongside Zack Ryder as the Major Brothers. They then aligned themselves with Edge on SmackDown and also had a tag team title run. However, after an eight year stint with the company Myers was released in 2014.
During an interview on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Myers opened up his WWE release and said it was one of the best days of his life since he wasn’t been utilized.
“Yes, one of the best days of my life. Because I was so young, they weren’t using me for, at that point, almost a year and a half. That’s why I started the school, because I was just miserable. They would not call me for two months, three months at a time, and they’d be like, You’re not coming to RAW. It just wasn’t comfortable. Plus, when you love something and you’re being paid to not participate in it, it’s just not a great feeling,” he said.
Myers mentioned that after he was let go, he immediately began competing on the independents and was much happier.
“So I was thrilled, I got fired on Thursday, I wrestled Friday, Saturday on these shindies in New Jersey, and I couldn’t have been happier. That said, my goal was to get back, and I did it two years to the date, I want to say it was,” he added.
The sports entertainment giant rehired Myers in 2016, and he remained with the company until his 2020 release.
Brian Myers had his WrestleMania moment during second WWE run
After his being signed by WWE for a second time, Brian Myers joined the SmackDown brand. In 2017, it was mentioned that Myers had losing streak of 100 matches going on.
The streak would continue until 2019, when his moment arrived at WrestleMania 35. He reunited with Zack Ryder as the duo faced The Revival for the RAW Tag Team Championship at the Show of Shows.
At the kickoff show, Myers pinned Scott Dawson to win the Tag Team Titles and end his infamous losing streak.
