After SmackDown went off the air, Baron Corbin attacked United States Champion Trick Williams. The Lone Wolf responded to a fan today on social media who was wondering why Carmelo Hayes was not involved in the rivalry for the US Title, and Corbin responded that he needed to be. The conversation happened in the comments section of a Triple H post on Instagram, and you can check it out in the image below.

“He needs to be!” wrote Corbin.

Trick Williams won the United States Championship by defeating Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42.

Baron Corbin sends message following WWE return

Baron Corbin sent a warning to Trick Williams following his surprise return to the promotion.

The veteran cut a promo on Williams earlier this month on SmackDown and claimed that Williams was the first name on a long list. He suggested that the majority of the WWE locker room was pretending to be tough.

“I’ve been watching the shows, and I see all these guys running around, thinking they’re legitimately tough. Think they can walk the walk and talk the talk. I am the real deal, and the world knows it. Trick, you’re the first name on a long list. And Melo, unfortunately for you, you were just collateral damage,” he said.

It will be interesting to see if Corbin can defeat Williams at WWE SummerSlam to become the new United States Champion.
