The Cincinnati Bengals need linebackers with experience to accelerate the development of Demetrius Knight Jr. and Barrett Carter.

Meanwhile, twelve-year veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy is a free agent, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be returning to the Baltimore Ravens.

Could it be a fit?

Recently, on the “Up & Adams” podcast, host Kay Adams asked Van Noy, “What’s going on with you and the Steelers?”

The linebacker expressed concerns that he wouldn’t get sufficient playing time in Pittsburgh with all the talent they have, including T.J. Watt, Nick Herbig, and Alex Highsmith.

Then Van Noy pivoted to the Cincinnati Bengals, saying, “I will say, I did enjoy, when I was at the Pro Bowl, getting to know Joe Burrow, just seeing how he locked in for a flag football game and the competitive side that he has and how he turns it on.”

He then called Burrow a top-three QB in the NFL, “cerebral”, and said, “If you know, you know. He’s that dude.”

Adams then asked, “Would you play for the Bengals?”

Van Noy laughed about switching places with Trey Hendrickson, but then said, “Yeah, they just got Dexter Lawrence. They have B.J. Hill. They have a couple young guys on the edge, [Myles] Murphy.”

In other words, he could be the final piece for a defense that now has muscle up front but not enough consistency behind the d-line.
