Mike has been a singles star since his AEW departure and is now a part of TNA wrestling, where he is the current World Champion. The 35-year-old has also competed in WWE on multiple occasions as a part of the partnership between the two companies. However, it seems like the global juggernaut wants to make Santana a permanent part of their roster.

WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select reported that WWE is interested in signing Mike Santana. It was also noted that the company would like the former AEW star on the main roster by the end of the year if they land him.

Mike Santana last competed in WWE in March

Mike Santana has competed in a few matches in WWE despite being signed to TNA, as the two companies have a working relationship. The TNA World Champion last competed in the Stamford-based promotion in March, where he teamed up with Bronco Nima and Lucien Price to defeat Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, and Saquon Shugars of The Darkstate.

Santana has shown during his TNA run that he belongs in the singles division. The World Champion was not impressed with his AEW run and even took a shot at Tony Khan’s company a few months ago during his segment with Frankie Kazarian.

“At one point we were in the same place, miserable as hell. We were at a place that tried to drain the passion out of what we love the most. And what did we do? We left that place, we bet on ourselves.”

Santana bet upon himself when he asked for his release from AEW and decided to become a singles star despite being a tag team wrestler for the majority of his career. The 35-year-old has proved his doubters wrong with his current run and could become an even bigger name if he ends up signing with WWE.
