The powerhouse made her first appearance for WWE in May, wrestling a dark match against Skylar Raye. She made her televised appearance for the sports entertainment juggernaut on the June 30 edition of NXT. Reina Volcan launched a brutal attack on Tatum Paxley following her match. The following week, the company officially revealed her new on-screen moniker.

She defeated Raye in her first televised match for the promotion on July 21. Since then, Volcan has been active at NXT live events in recent weeks. Amid her absence from TV, fans have been speculating about the upstart’s status.

On X, Reina Volcan revealed that she had been preparing for her NXT run amid her absence from TV. The powerhouse also asked fans whether they were prepared to witness the Volcan era.

“Been MIA but just know I’m still grinding. I’ll be getting back to your comments and messages this weekend. If you’re wondering, I’m getting ready for the Volcan Era 😎 are you?”

WWE Superstar Reina Volcan reflected on her journey as Nikki Blackheart

Reina Volcan was trained by the legendary Gangrel before she joined WWE. She wrestled her first match for the company as Martinez. However, the promotion named her Reina Volcan after she made her first televised appearance.

In a post on X, Volcan looked back on her pro wrestling journey on the independent circuit. She also commented on her new moniker.

“Nikki Blackheart, thank you for one hell of a ride. When I first chose the name, I remember asking my coach Gangrel what he thought. He had been part of The Blackhearts in Japan, so his opinion meant a lot. He didn’t hesitate. He told me, ‘Do it.’ Then said, ‘Just make sure you represent it well.’ From that day on, I did my best to live up to those words. My gear girl, Chelsea, made me this top a while ago, and I could never find the ‘perfect’ time to wear it. Turns out, today was the perfect time. Thank you to everyone who helped put Nikki Blackheart on the map, and for all the love and support you’ve shown me throughout this journey. I’ll never take it for granted. On to new beginnings. P.S. It’s not ‘Queen Volcano’ or ‘Queen of Volcanoes.’ It’s Reina Volcán… not everything needs to be translated.”
