He was scheduled to be a part of the Cruiserweight Classic and also had the opportunity to do motion capture for 2K for the WWE game series. However, things went wrong during the motion capture session.

During an appearance on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Amazing Red talked about how he was invited for the mocap session ahead of the Crusierweight Classic. The 44-year-old star said doing motion capture is hard, as you have to do the same moves over and over again.

He recalled being asked to do AJ Styles’ Spiral Tap and after doing it multiple times, he was asked to go one more time. He said his body was already hurting, and when he did the Spiral Tap again, he ended up getting injured.

“So what happened is that whatever flip I did, my one foot went in between the crash pads that connected, and I went the other way, and I heard the loudest [snap], but I didn’t feel nothing. So I’m there. I’m hanging out. I’m just lying down, and everyone’s looking at me. And Low Ki screams at the top of his lungs, ‘Is anybody gonna effing help him? He broke his leg!’ He said that when he took my leg out, it was backwards. Once I saw that, instant pain, heat everywhere, all of my body, and then I started screaming,” he said.

He said that with the Cruiserweight Classic just a week away, it was clear he couldn’t participate after he broke his “leg in half.” The TNA Hall of Famer said he felt bitter in the moment, feeling that it was a cruel way for his opportunity to be taken away.

He then mentioned that both 2K and WWE asked him to be quiet about his injury.

“2K told me to be quiet about it. WWE told me to be quiet about it. Canyon Ceman, he said, ‘Don’t worry, because we’re gonna plan to do a season two, and you’ll be right on board for it,'” he added.

Amazing Red had a dark match in WWE with CM Punk

In 2005, Amazing Red had a dark match with CM Punk in WWE. The match was meant to be an opportunity for Punk to be signed by the company.

During the conversation on INSIGHT, Red said that Ricky Steamboat, who was an agent, was trying to get Punk in the promotion. Red said he was tasked with making the Second City Saint look good, as it was his last-ditch effort to be signed.

The former TNA X-Division champion said this added more pressure on him.
