Considering Triple H is currently the CCO of WWE and its most recognizable official, a lot of fans are quick to blame him for corporate decisions. As per WrestleVotes, though, the situation with Sheamus did not involve Triple H making any decisions, and that it was people higher up who were responsible.
While WWE is yet to publicly acknowledge his departure, the Irish star has now made it official by changing his name on his social media handles. It remains to be seen what’s in store for The Celtic Warrior next, as he’s sure to generate plenty of interest from other promotions across the globe, most likely from AEW.
Booker T defends WWE after Sheamus leaves the company
Being the thorough company man that he is, Booker T was quick to jump to WWE’s defense following the uproar over Sheamus being asked to take a pay cut. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the WCW legend said that talent leaving was a part and parcel of every corporation and it wasn’t fair for them to be painted as villains each time.
“So when I hear people literally trying to make WWE the bad guy when somebody gets released, laid off, or fired, that happens at any corporation, because it really does,” Booker T said.
The veteran star spent a staggering 20 years in the company and is sure to be welcomed back eventually as part of the WWE Hall of Fame down the line.
