Austin Theory has explained Maxxine Dupri coming from their shared frustration over feeling overlooked in WWE. In an interview on KRON 4, the former United States Champion revealed that he recognized Dupri’s trajectory. He drew parallels to his own career after losing the Tag Team Championship.

“I saw the path that she was on and kind of similar to me, you know, like back when I had the tag team titles and we lost those, and I kind of was just on this journey trying to figure out what was next for me, and same thing for her. It’s like you put in all this work and people aren’t seeing it; it’s not paying off, and then it’s almost like you just got to take things into your own hands,” he said.

Austin Theory felt both of them were putting in immense effort without receiving proper recognition, viewing Dupri as a talent who was being misused and underappreciated. He noted that she possesses the potential to achieve her goals but needs a partner to help push her over the edge.
