However, the events of the August 17 episode of RAW have changed the dynamic. Solo Sikoa refused to fall back in line with Reigns and ultimately attacked him. Meanwhile, Fatu did not come to the OTC’s aid.

WWE has also emphasized the tension between Jacob and The Usos. Meanwhile, footage after the show went off-air showed The Samoan Werewolf walking away from The Bloodline situation. With so many questions surrounding Fatu’s allegiance, Triple H should resist the temptation to immediately have him explain himself. Instead, the company should keep him silent.

That said, in this article, we look at three reasons why he should remain silent.

#3. Silence creates uncertainty

Jacob Fatu does not need to explain his actions right now. In fact, saying too much could actually hurt the story.

The most interesting thing about Fatu at the moment is that nobody knows exactly what he is thinking. Roman Reigns cannot be certain whether his cousin remains loyal. Meanwhile, The Usos have their own concerns about where Jacob stands.

That uncertainty is valuable. Jacob Fatu has always been presented as an unpredictable and dangerous character. He has been described as one of the most feared superstars in the company, which makes his silence even more effective.

If Fatu suddenly delivers a lengthy explanation about why he did not help Reigns, much of the mystery disappears. Instead, WWE could have him appear on RAW without saying a word. He could stare at the OTC, acknowledge The Usos, or simply walk away.

Every small gesture would then have meaning. Is The Samoan Werewolf angry with Reigns? Does he feel disrespected? Is he considering siding with Solo? Or does he simply believe The Bloodline’s internal problems are no longer his responsibility?

WWE can keep fans guessing by refusing to provide an immediate answer.

#2. Jacob Fatu’s eventual decision becomes more impactful

WWE should also think about the payoff. Jacob Fatu’s eventual decision could become one of the biggest moments in The Bloodline story, particularly because he has already experienced conflict with Roman Reigns.

Earlier this year, Fatu challenged Reigns for Tribal Chief status before eventually accepting his position within the family. That history means another major confrontation would carry considerable weight.

If The Samoan Werewolf immediately explains that he is angry with the OTC, WWE loses an opportunity to build anticipation. Instead, the company should allow his actions to speak for him.

Imagine several weeks of Roman Reigns trying to figure out where Jacob Fatu stands. The OTC could repeatedly ask Fatu for his loyalty. The latter could remain silent. Reigns might then attempt to put him in situations where he is forced to choose between The Bloodline and his own interests. Still, Jacob says nothing.

Eventually, when the moment arrives, The Samoan Werewolf can make his decision through one decisive action. If he helps Roman, it becomes a major show of loyalty. However, if he attacks the OTC and joins Solo Sikoa, it becomes a shocking betrayal.

If Jacob Fatu walks away from both Reigns and Sikoa, WWE can establish Fatu as a completely independent force. The longer the company waits, the more significant that moment becomes.

#1. It keeps Roman Reigns guessing

Most importantly, keeping Jacob Fatu silent would put Roman Reigns in an unusual position. The OTC is accustomed to controlling situations. Perhaps that is exactly what makes Fatu’s silence so effective.

Reigns has already been trying to manage the growing problems inside The Bloodline. He has had to deal with Solo Sikoa refusing to fall in line. Meanwhile, The Usos have been placed in leadership positions within the faction. The latest episode of RAW featured Reigns naming Jimmy and Jey as captains, further highlighting how much responsibility has fallen on them.

The uncertainty around Fatu gives Reigns another problem he cannot solve immediately. The OTC could attempt to question him, pressure him, or demand that he prove his loyalty. However, The Samoan Werewolf does not have to answer. That would frustrate Roman more than a verbal confrontation ever could.

The Bloodline’s entire power structure has traditionally depended on Roman Reigns knowing that his family members will follow his orders. If Jacob Fatu refuses to reveal what he is thinking, Reigns loses that certainty.

That could eventually make the OTC paranoid. Roman might start wondering whether Fatu will turn on him, support The Usos, remain neutral, or even forge his own alliance. That is exactly the kind of psychological pressure WWE should put on the World Heavyweight Champion.
