Speaking on All Axxess Entertainment, Jim Johnston stated that WWE Superstars never contact him. He opined that it was because the company told them not to do so. He noted that it was also the case with AEW stars.
“The biggest thing is I just feel so sorry for the wrestlers because I occasionally get contacted by a wrestler, but never from WWE, and I think that’s because they’ve been told not to. I’ve been contacted by enough where I know that the stories I hear, both for WWE and AEW, that these guys lobby for music and they won’t let them do it,” Johnston said.
Johnston further questioned the executives behind all the decision-making.
“Guys have told me they tell the powers that be, ‘I’ll find someone. I’ll pay for it. No responsibility on your part. Can I do it?’ No. ‘This is your music. Boom.’ Well, I don’t know if it’s a travesty, but it’s certainly weird. I always wonder when decisions like that are being made, do the people at the real top know that those decisions are being made?” he added. [H/T: Ringside News]

Jim Johnston explained why he is not getting to work with WWE Superstars
Later during the same conversation, Jim Johnston stated that WWE Head of Creative Triple H was not a big fan of him.
The veteran opined that The Game perceived him as a Vince McMahon guy. Johnston further stated that he thought that it was the reason he was not being asked to write songs for the stars from the Stamford-based promotion.
“I don’t think he’s a very big fan. I think when he was coming into, sort of, out of wrestling, into more of a behind-the-scenes role, he clearly wanted his own guys, and he perceived me as Vince’s guy. So, I think that’s why I’m not being asked to write themes anymore,” Johnston said.
Only time will tell whether Jim Johnston works with World Wrestling Entertainment ever again.
