The 34-year-old superstar and Zilla already have history together from their time on the independent wrestling scene. In fact, Zilla has repeatedly spoken about the impact Jacob had on his development. Their reunion could be much more meaningful than simply adding another member to Roman’s faction.

That said, in this article, we look at three reasons why Zilla Fatu needs to reunite with Jacob Fatu before joining The Bloodline.

#3. It could help Jacob Fatu finally step out of Roman Reigns’ shadow

Jacob Fatu has already established himself as one of the most dangerous members of The Bloodline. However, his association with Roman Reigns continues to define a significant portion of his WWE story.

That could change with Zilla. The two Fatus have a genuine relationship that predates Jacob’s WWE career. The debuting star has previously explained that the Samoan Werewolf guided him during his early days in wrestling, giving him advice and knowledge that helped him develop.

That history allows WWE to create a storyline about the Fatu family rather than Roman Reigns’. Zilla could reunite with Jacob and encourage him to strike out on his own. Instead of remaining another powerful member of Roman’s Bloodline, the Samoan Werewolf could become the leader of a new generation of Fatus.

This would not necessarily require Jacob Fatu to turn against Roman immediately. He could simply begin questioning whether remaining under the Tribal Chief is still the best direction for his career.

Zilla Fatu’s arrival could be the catalyst. The younger Fatu could remind Jacob that he has already proven himself and does not need to live in Roman’s shadow. Together, they could create an identity separate from The Bloodline while remaining connected to their family’s legacy. Perhaps that would make Jacob’s eventual decision regarding Roman far more compelling.

#2. Zilla Fatu and Jacob Fatu already have proven chemistry as a team

WWE would not have to manufacture a relationship between Zilla Fatu and Jacob Fatu. They already have one.

Before Jacob signed with WWE, he and Zilla enjoyed a short but memorable run as a tag team on the independent wrestling circuit. Most of their matches took place in GCW. Also, the debuting star has revealed that their partnership was one of the hottest on the scene at the time.

That is exactly the kind of foundation WWE should take advantage of. Instead of introducing Zilla as Roman Reigns’ newest recruit, the company could immediately reunite him with Jacob and allow fans to see why the two worked so well together.

Also, their previous partnership gives WWE an easy story to tell. Zilla Fatu could acknowledge that Jacob was one of the people who helped him find his footing in professional wrestling. The Samoan Werewolf could then welcome his younger cousin to WWE and help him adjust to the demands of the company.

The partnership would feel authentic because it is built on an existing relationship rather than a manufactured narrative for television. Also, it would give Zilla an important character motivation. Rather than joining The Bloodline simply because of his shared history with the family, he would have a personal reason for aligning with Jacob. That distinction could make all the difference.

#1. They could become a force in the tag division

Perhaps the biggest reason WWE should reunite Zilla Fatu and Jacob before putting either man deeper into The Bloodline is simple: they could become one of the company’s most intimidating tag teams.

Both men possess tremendous physicality, explosive offense, and a natural connection that comes from their family relationship and previous experience together.

Jacob has already become an established WWE star. Meanwhile, Zilla’s NXT debut demonstrated why there was so much anticipation surrounding his arrival. Thus, putting the two together could create an imposing team capable of immediately shaking up the tag division.

WWE could take its time with the partnership. Zilla Fatu and the Samoan Werewolf could begin by targeting established teams, building momentum before eventually challenging for championship gold. Their matches could allow Zilla to develop on television while simultaneously giving Jacob something fresh to pursue.

Also, it would prevent Zilla Fatu from becoming lost inside The Bloodline. Roman’s faction already contains several major personalities. Thus, immediately adding another family member could make Zilla feel like just another piece of a larger group. A partnership with Jacob would allow him to establish his own identity first.

There is also tremendous long-term potential. Once Zilla and Jacob become a successful team, Roman could eventually attempt to bring them into The Bloodline. At that point, the decision would actually matter because the two Fatus would already have something of their own.
