After years of putting his body at risk, the veteran performer quit performing in 2018, but not without damaging his legs and ankles. In May this year, it was revealed that Jannetty had his right foot amputated. The 66-year-old star has finally addressed undergoing the procedure, writing that he was grateful to the Cauliflower Alley Club and its President, Brian Blair, for being on his side.

“As many of you all know, Ive recently had to undergo an amputation. The very first thing I must do is thank Brian Blair and his GREAT staff at the Cauliflower Alley Club or CAC. Theyve showed me quite a lot of love and compassion for my situation. Without their help I dont think I wouldve gotten through this very tough time in my life. Insurance only covers so much so I definitely needed their help. And of course if ever a time comes when I can do something for them I’M THERE!!! Thanx again CAC,” he wrote.

WWE called out for not supporting Marty Jannetty

Eddy Mansfield, who first made the news of Jannetty’s amputation public, didn’t hold back before lashing out at WWE for not helping the star when he needed them the most. Mansfield blasted the Stamford-based promotion for making millions off their athletes’ backs but not stepping up during their hour of need.

“But where in the hell was WWE to help Marty Jannetty? He made them millions of dollars, and you can’t help him when he’s in the biggest need of his life, fighting for his life. I don’t understand that. And that’s where I’ve had trouble with the promoters the whole damn time. These guys in WWE can get all these pay raises and all this other cr*p, screw the wrestling fans out of a bunch of damn money for tickets—but you can’t take care of the guys who make you the money,” he added.

Only time will tell if WWE ever welcomes back Marty Jannetty under its umbrella as part of its coveted Hall of Fame.
