Cody Rhodes is heading into WrestleMania this year as the Undisputed WWE Champion once again. He is set to main event Night 1 of the Showcase of the Immortals in less than 24 hours. Ahead of his big title defense, Rhodes received a heartwarming tribute from one of his beloved young friends in AEW. The friend in question is none other than Brodie Lee Jr. who was in action at Joey Janela’s Spring Break X hosted by Game Changer Wrestling last night.
Cody Rhodes has a very complicated relationship with All Elite Wrestling. He helped start the company along with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks back in 2019 and was appointed as one of the company’s Executive Vice Presidents. After an underwhelming 3-year stint in the company, Rhodes left AEW to join WWE in 2022 and made his return at WrestleMania 38.
In 2021, Former Wyatt Family member Brodie Lee tragically passed away. Cody was Brodie’s last opponent and since then, he has been helping out Brodie’s family whenever he can. Brodie’s son is on an honorary contract with AEW and continues to train at WWE star Natalya’s Dungeon 2.0 Wrestling School. He continues to make several appearances on the ringside during Cody’s matches.
Since WrestleMania 42 is in Las Vegas, a lot of wrestling promotions have been hosting shows in Vegas around the same time. Game Changer Wrestling also hosted the Joey Janela’s Spring Break X last night in the Sin City. During the show, Brodie Lee Jr. defeated Joey Janela himself in a singles bout. He paid tribute to Cody Rhodes during the match by using his Cross Rhodes finishing move.

Fans loved to see Brodie Lee Jr. pay homage to Cody Rhodes like this in his first singles match ever. This was his second career bout as he participated in a Battle Royal at last year’s Spring Break.
Cody Rhodes will face Randy Orton in the WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 Main Event
The first night of WrestleMania is just a few hours away and it is set to feature some really big matches. Drew McIntyre is set to settle the score with Jacob Fatu after months of animosity in an Unsanctioned match. Speed will make his in-ring debut when he joins the Vision to face off The Usos and LA Knight in a 6-Man Tag Team bout.
The main event will feature Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton in a singles bout for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Fans were really forward to seeing this feud until WWE paired the Viper up with Pat McAfee. This creative decision has received widespread criticism from fans across the world.
It will be interesting to see who will leave WrestleMania 42 as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
