This comes as a shock, given the work that Liv Morgan has put in over the past year and how much her popularity has risen. Roman Reigns was always a clear winner since he has carried WWE on his back for the past five years, but it seems that Rhea Ripley is seen as his female equivalent.

Both Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley won championships at WWE’s WrestleMania event

Roman Reigns main evented WrestleMania last month and walked out with the World Heavyweight Championship, while Rhea Ripley was able to defeat Jade Cargill to become WWE Women’s Champion.

Interestingly, the two stars have recently switched brands as well, since Ripley’s win forced her to move with the title over to SmackDown, whilst Reigns is now exclusive to RAW while he holds the World Heavyweight Championship.

It is an interesting situation for both stars, and it’s easy to see why they are now seen as the biggest stars in the company. Roman Reigns will main event Backlash against Jacob Fatu with his World Championship on the line, since the two men have been at odds for the past few weeks.

Rhea Ripley won’t be defending her title at Backlash, since she has been having issues with Fatal Influence since they made their main roster debut. There is still a chance for a match to be added to the show since there is one more episode of SmackDown to go, but it’s unlikely.

Instead, it seems that the major match on the card for the women at Backlash will see Iyo Sky take on Asuka, and Ripley will firmly be in Sky’s corner as she hopes to watch her former partner overcome The Empress after months of her bullying tactics.
