Ahead of the live event, The Miz took to X to remind fans about the time he wrestled wearing a mask in Canada. He also reminded people that he still has the mask.

“WWE Live Event in Calgary tonight. Don’t tempt me. I still have the mask. 😂,” The Miz tweeted.

Back in 2009, The Miz had been fired and banned from Monday Night Raw following his loss to John Cena. Thus, to bypass the ban, Miz decided to wear a mask and fake his identity to get a chance to compete inside the ring once again. He wrestled under the name The Calgary Kid. The match was against Eugene for a wrestling contract. After winning the match, he took off the mask to reveal himself.

It is hard to disagree with the fact that the A-lister is one of the best speakers in the business. One of his promos that received a lot of traction was the infamous segment on the SmackDown post-show, Talking Smack. The event took place a decade ago. Miz, who was the Intercontinental Champion at that time, interrupted the episode of Talking Smack to speak to the SmackDown General Manager, Daniel Bryan.

Recently, the A-Lister took to Instagram to share a post reliving the segment 10 years later. He also mentioned that people are still talking about the segment to this day.

The Miz’s wife, Maryse, also commented on the post, stating that her husband was the one who made the Intercontinental Championship relevant again.
