Danhausen continued to work in his lab, causing electrical issues all night. Jacy Jayne was the first female WWE star to address Queen of the Ring.

She and Fatal Influence stepped up to Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige and Brie Bella. The latest SmackDown played out as follows.

#9. WWE fans in Barcelona don’t want to hear Jade Cargill talk

Jade Cargill and her cronies tried to talk, but were booed every time they started. She says people are mad that she just does what she wants. Rhea Ripley cuts them off to the delight of the crowd.

Ripley says Jade uses others to make herself look better, but when it’s one-on-one, she beats her. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss come out next.

The crowd is behind Bliss as she and Flair explain that others have had much more success than she has in her short WWE career. Nick Aldis books Cargill to face Bliss.

#8. Jade Cargill battles Alexa Bliss on SmackDown

Bliss goes to the top early on, but Cargill catches her and hits a backbreaker. They then take about 10 seconds for Jade to pick Bliss off the top buckle for a slam.

Cargill slams Alexa back-first on top of a ringside barricade. She hits her knee on the steel steps when Bliss moves. Michin grabs Alexa by the feet to trip her back in the ring.

Flair and Ripley take them out. Bliss hits a DDT and goes for the Sparkle Splash, but The Storm blocks it, hits Jaded, and predictably wins. Jade gets a chair after the victory and plants Bliss on it after another Jaded.

#7. Axiom vs. The Miz

Axiom outwrestles The A-Lister early on, so the Miz tries to leave. Miz controls the action until after the commercial break. Axiom fights back, but Miz pleads with him to stop. Axiom stomps on his hands and lands some kicks.

He gets a near fall with a crossbody off the top. Miz sidesteps the Golden Ratio kick. He hits a Lariat in the corner, but is trapped in a submission.

The former WWE Champion goes to the top, but the lights flicker to distract him. Axiom recovers and hits a Spanish Fly, followed by the Golden Ratio for the victory.

#6. Royce Keys backs up Damian Priest against the MFTs

Priest and Keys use the “partner tags themself in” trope, with Keys doing so to get in the match. He hits a gutbuster and snap powerslam on Tama. Royce sends Tama from the ring with a shoulder block.

Talla comes in and tries to chokeslam Priest, but the reluctant tag partners send Talla to the outside. The MFTs have control after the commercial, but Keys hits a Spinebuster and tags in Priest.

Things fall apart as the referee tries to send Keys back to his corner. Solo blasts Priest with a Samoan Spike behind his back. R-Truth then comes out to neutralize Solo, but it doesn’t last long. Talla hits Priest with a chokeslam for the win.

GRADE: C+

#5. Sami Zayn vs. Matt Cardona

The WWE veterans trade control early on, with nothing much going on until Cardona hits the Broski Boot. He hits a powerbomb for a close call. Cardona goes for the Ruff Ryder, but Zayn counters into a powerbomb.

Sami attempts the Helluva Kick, but is hit with the legdrop. Zayn breaks up the pin with a foot on the bottom rope. Sami hits the Exploder suplex into the corner before hitting the Helluva Kick for the win.

#4. Saying so little by talking so much with Trick Williams

Carmelo Hayes and Ricky Saints interrupt Trick Williams: SmackDown highlights, May 29, 2026

Trick says there hasn’t been another WWE star to prove himself as the future of the business over the last six months. He must not watch RAW and Oba Femi. Carmelo Hayes comes out after Trick alludes to King of the Ring.

He says he’s coming for Williams after he beats Ricky Saints. Trick says Melo is making excuses, but he was cheated out of his last two big showings.

Saints comes out next, and he and Trick waste time. These guys are supposed to be great on the mic, but they just spew nonsense. Great stuff, WWE.

#3. Carmelo Hayes vs. Ricky Saints

Hayes lands some offense early on. Saints sends Hayes to the outside to take the reins in the match. He tosses Melo into the barricade. Back in the ring, they trade shots until Melo hits a springboard clothesline.

Saints reverses a move into a Sister Abigail variant. Melo fights back with a Tope Con Giro. Ricky tosses Melo into the WWE fans, but he hits a move off the barricade. Melo sends Ricky into the steel steps headfirst. Both men are counted out.

GRADE: C

#2. Chelsea Green vs. Nia Jax

Jax tossed Green across the ring a few times. Green hits a Suicide Dive, but then SmackDown immediately goes to commercial. Nia is in control for much of the match. She hits a powerbomb for a near fall.

Green hits a Zig Zag out of nowhere for a two-count. Jax faces her biggest nemesis, the ringpost, allowing Green to land a dropkick off the top, followed by the Ruff Ryder for a close call.

Jax powers out of an Unprettier by pushing Green into the ropes. Lash Legend swipes at Green’s feet, but she kicks her down. Nia hits a Samoan Drop and goes for the Yokozuna Splash, but Tiffany Stratton’s music hits.

The former WWE Women’s Tag Champions wait for her to appear, but she pops up behind their back to knock Jax off the top. Green gets the pin and a shocking win.

GRADE: C+

#1. Rhodes and Gunther argue over who is more of a wrestler

Gunther cuts Rhodes off before he says much. He says SmackDown is always about Cody, and if it isn’t, he makes sure it is about him. Rhodes got everything because of the machine and nepotism, while he had to leave his home and work hard to get to the spot he’s in today.

Rhodes was always just a phone call away from pursuing his dreams. Gunther thinks Cody needs to feed his ego with everyone’s approval. He hasn’t said anything that isn’t an outright lie.

Gunther wants to protect wrestling from people like Cody Rhodes. He ends by saying Rhodes only cares about himself. Cody does what he does with every opponent – he calls them a liar and delusional.

The WWE Champion claims Gunther wants all the adulation and responsibilities he has, proving The Ring General’s words to a degree. WWE goes with another flat ending of just talking instead of physicality.
