Trick Williams reclaimed the United States Championship at Sunday Night’s Main Event, finally getting his win back over Baron Corbin. The Anointed One has defended the title a couple of times at house shows during WWE’s ongoing tour of Mexico. However, the 32-year-old was seen carrying the original title belt instead of his customized belt.
WWE legend heaped praise on Trick Williams
Trick Williams has done tremendous work since moving to the main roster, impressing fans and critics alike. The 32-year-old is already a two-time United States Champion and has been a part of many prominent matches.
Trick recently received huge praise from wrestling veteran Diamond Dallas Page. DDP noted that the SmackDown star is the Muhammad Ali of pr wrestling:
“With Trick Williams, as soon as I saw him, I said, ‘Trick Williams is Muhammad Ali as a wrestler’. A true athlete,” he said.
The veteran explained the tag, noting that Williams’ mic work is very impressive:
“He was talking sh*t coming out of the womb! But another super respectful guy, and that’s really how you differentiate guys in the business,” he added.
Trick Williams did not have a memorable first reign with the United States title as he lost the gold after two defenses on TV programming. However, fans have higher hopes for the star’s second run with the title.
