WWE “blinked” and made a huge mistake ahead of WrestleMania 42, says former star

Speaking on the latest episode of The Stevie Richards Show, the 21-time Hardcore Champion believes that WWE made a mistake by continuing to slash prices for WrestleMania 42 tickets.

“They blinked. So now everybody knows. So now the slippery slope of you raise them, you raise them, you raise them. Once you blink and know we got to put sales on and do all this stuff, isn’t it almost freezing people? I mean, you got the 3:16 day. You might have with 31.6% discount, but how many people are now saying, ‘I’ll take my chances, maybe fly to Vegas,’ or ‘I live close enough to drive, I’ll go a day of and see if they are just trying to paper the town and unload these,” Richards said.

WrestleMania 42 hasn’t been sold out, but more tickets are likely getting sold as the event approaches. It’s an interesting build for the event, with many high-profile names still having no official match at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Current WrestleMania 42 match card

As mentioned earlier, there are only five announced matches so far for WrestleMania 42, with less than a month to go. Here are the matches currently slated for Nights 1 and 2 of WrestleMania.

Night 1

  • Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship
  • Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship

Night 2

  • CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship
  • Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi

WrestleMania is scheduled for April 17 and 18 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s the second year in a row that the biggest event of the year is happening in Sin City.
