Bryson DeChambeau unsurprisingly finds his name central to the ongoing speculation about the future of LIV Golf.
It remains to be seen what lies ahead for LIV Golf following widespread rumours that the league will soon lose its funding from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

The 2026 season continued as normal last week, with Jon Rahm emerging victorious at LIV Golf Mexico City.
He tops the individual standings, but is immediately followed by DeChambeau, who is arguably the league’s biggest star.
That may not be the case for much longer, with DeChambeau potentially focusing on the four majors and filming content, but it’s clear that his future should be on the PGA Tour.
Bryson DeChambeau must leave LIV Golf to join the PGA Tour
DeChambeau was a regular winner on the PGA Tour once upon a time, with the American having claimed nine titles over the years.
He left to join LIV Golf in 2022, but his current contract is set to expire at the end of 2026, with his future still unclear.

The two-time major winner did have the option to make a dramatic PGA Tour comeback via the Returning Member Program, which was also extended to Brooks Koepka, Rahm and Cameron Smith.
Only Koepka accepted the offer, and the deadline has since passed, but the PGA Tour should at least be open to another lifeline for DeChambeau.
He’s clearly a talented player and one that is capable of competing with the very best, while his personality should pave the way for non-stop entertainment, both on and off the course.
He also boasts a massive and loyal following, which can only benefit the PGA Tour if DeChambeau is a regular presence at their tournaments.

Bryson DeChambeau’s LIV Golf commitment is admirable but possibly foolish
Unfortunately right now, the American superstar making a sensational return to the PGA Tour is seemingly off the cards.
DeChambeau is still committed to LIV Golf, having just issued an important update about his contract situation.
“We’re still working on a potential contract,” he said. “I haven’t given up on that and I think there will be a solution.
“But as of right now, my job is to help make the league work after this year. I just feel like I have a responsibility.
“I’ve put a lot of effort into it. So that’s what I’m going to do, we’re going to make this work. As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense.”

It’s definitely an admirable attitude from DeChambeau, who deserves credit for trying to stick with the project through the challenging times.
At the same time, however, it may ultimately prove very foolish given the uncertainty over the funding of LIV Golf.
He does look like having a backup option via his impressive social media efforts, but that would be a real loss for competitive golf.
The sport needs the biggest stars constantly competing against one another to offer the best possible product for fans, and that means DeChambeau and the PGA Tour reuniting.
