While many believed the injury wasn’t grave, reports revealed that it’s much worse than anticipated. Recently, the company hosted a creator fest event for WWE 2K26 in their headquarters, where the former two-time United States Champion made an appearance to promote the game.

In a video uploaded by Denise Salcedo, Green was seen walking following her ankle injury without the walking boot. It’s a significant improvement, as previously she appeared on Friday Night SmackDown in a wheelchair with Alba Fyre’s help.

It could take a few more weeks before The Hot Mess returns to the ring for action.

Chelsea Green was a double champion in WWE

Last year, Chelsea Green had a tough time on the blue brand after losing to Zelina Vega and suffering a broken nose at Saturday Night’s Main Event in May. She spent months working on NXT and Friday Night SmackDown, where she captured the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship with Ethan Page.

The dominant duo continued their reign of terror in Mexico and showcased their caliber on the developmental brand as well. Meanwhile, The Hot Mess climbed the ranks on the blue brand and earned a title shot against the Women’s United States Champion, Giulia.

In December 2025, Green defeated The Beautiful Madness on WWE SmackDown and became the new Women’s United States Champion. Chelsea Green became a double champion in the promotion alongside Ethan Page, who also holds the NXT North American Championship.

Sadly, Green’s reign as a double champion ended in January 2026 when she lost the Women’s United States Championship back to Giulia. She’s currently recovering from her ankle injury, and it’ll be interesting to see what’s next for the multi-time champion come WrestleMania 42.
