Villa Park has been rocking as the Villans close in on a Europa League comeback victory over Nottingham Forest

Unai Emery’s team levelled the tie through Ollie Watkins’ simple first half tap-in, set up by Emi Buendia’s dangerous cross.

Villa then took the lead for the first time on aggregate just before the hour mark, with Buendia stepping up and firing in from the penalty spot.

Not only has that conversion given Villa a big shot at making the 2025/26 Europa League final, but it means Buendia becomes the first player of an English club since 2021 to score and assist in the semi-final of the competition.

After Bunedia’s heroics set the tone, John McGinn finished off the tie with a late brace to send Villa to Istandbul.
