He made his first WWE appearance following his retirement at this year’s WrestleMania as the host of the event. He also returned at the Backlash PLE last weekend. He announced the new John Cena Classic tournament which received mixed reactions from fans. Despite the many things announced regarding the tournament, fans still don’t know a lot of things about it including the format and brackets.

In a recent report by Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer, the tournament is still a work-in-progress. He revealed that there is no clear direction on how they’re going to crown the Champion and everything else is just a speculation. He claimed that the company just wanted to make the announcement as soon as possible.

Fans are looking forward to seeing what else the company has planned for this new tournament.

John Cena had been promoting his announcement at WWE Backlash for a while week

After WWE announced that John Cena was set to make an appearance at the Backlash event in Tampa, Cena further revealed that he was going to make a groundbreaking announcement on the show. He continuously hyped up the announcement for the past week and even shared his thoughts following the announcement. His recent tweet talked about how it reflects his values and beliefs.
