The Scottish Warrior joined the cast of the upcoming Highlander alongside Henry Cavill and took time off from in-ring competition to shoot for the film. Later, it came to light that McIntyre was cast into another project, and Drew himself addressed it on Instagram.

Recently, a new report claimed that the three-time WWE Champion will not compete at SummerSlam in Minnesota, and fans weren’t happy about it. Users on X reacted to the recent reports and believe it’s due to the management’s poor creative choices that McIntyre has decided to stay away from the weekly product.

@WrestleOps I wouldn’t come back either if Hollywood calling my name. The WWE doesn’t deserve Drew McIntyre

@WrestleOps Good for him WWE dropped the ball on him

@WrestleOps Simple, Triple H f**ked up. He’s going Hollywood.

@WrestleOps Good for Drew….. He’ll be booked like trash in wwe

@WrestleOps Good for Drew cause HHH has no idea what to do with him and if he comes back he will just lose so stay in Hollywood I hope the best for Drew

@WrestleOps Its good. For 3 years he has suffered enough under that s**thole regime of HHH.

It’ll be interesting to see when McIntyre returns to the weekly product under Triple H’s creative regime.

Drew McIntyre’s WWE title reign ended before WrestleMania 42

For years, Drew McIntyre wanted to win a world championship in front of a live audience, but the pandemic cost him the opportunity to win the title in front of a crowd, as WrestleMania 36 occurred from the Performance Center. Earlier this year, The Scottish Warrior did the unthinkable and defeated Cody Rhodes.

The two went head-to-head in a Three Stages of Hell match, and McIntyre won the Undisputed WWE Championship in Germany. The Chosen One successfully defended his title against Sami Zayn at the Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia and made a few defences at live events.

In his next title defence in March, The American Nightmare defeated The Scottish Warrior and won the title back heading into WrestleMania 42. Drew McIntyre’s dream run ended, and The Choosen One didn’t get to headline the biggest event of the year as the champion in front of a crowd.
