Earlier this year, tension was building among the members, as they weren’t able to get on the same page. While Shugars tried his best, the group wasn’t able to reclaim its dominance like before. On the recent edition of WWE NXT, Saquon Shugars was pinned in a title match against The Vanity Project, and the group turned on him for costing the match.

After the vicious attack and a table spot on the outside, the group slowly left the ringside. During this, a clip went viral where a fan was in tears over the attack and Shugar’s exit from DarkState. The fan also went off on the other members as they made their way to the back.

“F**k you, Dion [Lennox]. You s**k, Dion. Why did you do that, Dion? That was your brother. That was your brother, Osiris [Griffin],” a fan exclaimed.

DarkState is a two-time champion in WWE

Last year, DarkState dominated the tag team division following Stand & Deliver 2025. The stable frequently wrestled in tag team matches and eventually earned an opportunity against the NXT Tag Team Champions. The stable won the NXT Tag Team Championship at NXT Heatwave against Hank and Tank.

After their championship win, DarkState became a staple on WWE NXT and eventually lost their titles in October against The Hardy Boyz. Luckily, they quickly recovered from the loss and defeated the legendary tag team at Halloween Havoc in a Broken Rules match.

Earlier this year, DarkState lost the titles to The Vanity Project heading into NXT Stand & Deliver. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next for the faction following Saquon Shugars’ exit from the group.
