“We are not concerned about the ticket performance whatsoever, as it was unrealistic to expect year two growth in Las Vegas,” said Mark Shapiro. [H/T Post Wrestling]

He also acknowledged the investor questions ahead of WM 42. WWE gradually reduced ticket prices and, at one point, set them at 25% for Night 1. Apart from this, Night 2 still looked better, with solid matches.

A WrestleMania 42 rematch is happening at Backlash this Saturday

On Night 2 of WrestleMania 42, Sami Zayn walked in as the United States Champion. He was the babyface, but he was booed like a heel because his opponent, Trick Williams, was extremely over by then.

The challenger made his SmackDown debut just months ago and earned the title shot, too, for WrestleMania.

Williams there defeated Zayn and won the US Title. Now their storyline has ended, as Sami has been behind him for weeks. The Gingerbread Man angle added some fun, with their feud still heating up. Now that the Canadian star, the real ‘Gingerbread Man’ as Trick called him, destroyed the mascot, the champion is infuriated.

They will square off in the ring again at Backlash, making it the only rematch from WrestleMania 42.
