Tennessee’s men’s golf team tied for a first-place finish in the Pauma Valley Invitational in Pauma Valley, California.
The Vols and Georgia Tech both recorded a three-day team total of 16-under par at Pauma Valley Country Club in the event that concluded Wednesday. LSU and Florida finished tied for third place (-13), followed by Oklahoma State (-8), Virginia (-6) and Illinois (-6).

Tennessee’s Lance Simpson also won an individual championship after a three-round score of 10-under 203. Jackson Herrington finished tied for 14th place with a score of 203 for Tennessee. Josh Hill finished tied for 22nd (212), Reed Lotter tied for 29th (213), Chase Kyes tied for 41st (215) and Luke Smith tied for 65th place (219).

Lotter competed as an individual in the tournament. Tennessee has two spring events remaining on its schedule before beginning postseason play. The Vols will return to action on April 5 at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Franklin, Tennessee.
