“Thank you @trickwilliams_wwe for an inspiring & captivating conversation. We can’t wait to see how far those lemon pepper steppers take you!” Stephanie McMahon wrote.

The podcast was filmed before WrestleMania 42, which is why Trick Williams doesn’t have the United States Championship with him. However, a few days after their conversation, on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42, Williams went on to defeat Sami Zayn and win the US title.

Trick Williams has to attend a funeral this Friday and wrestle a match this Saturday

Last week on SmackDown, the Gingerbread Man was decimated by Sami Zayn. Trick Williams began this “Gingerbread” storyline by referring to Sami as one, even bringing out a live gingerbread mascot to the ring to mock him. Now that he’s no more, a funeral will be held on the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown, so that fans can mourn his loss.

Trick Williams will attend the funeral; it is likely, however, that Zayn will interrupt proceedings, and maybe some blows will be exchanged. The United States Champion will have the opportunity to avenge the loss of the Gingerbread 24 hours later at Backlash.

He will clash with the Canadian star while putting his title on the line in a WrestleMania 42 rematch. Chances are that he will retain, picking up a win over Sami as he did at Mania. This match will be a part of the first hour of Backlash streaming on ESPN 2.
