As D’Angelo celebrated in the ring, he was interrupted by the arrival of Mike Santana. The former AEW and TNA star made his way through the crowd and stared down at the champion. The Don responded by holding up his title, welcoming the new arrival.

Later, on X, Santana broke silence on his shocking debut, saying that “sh*t just got real.” Now, he is officially welcomed to the brand by NXT’s head of creative Shawn Michaels.

In a video posted by WWE NXT on X, the Hall of Famer is seen shaking hands with Santana as he tells him it is great to have him on board. After HBK leaves, Santana asks the WWE Universe if they are ready for him.

The 35-year-old arrives in NXT after a lot of speculation over his future. His contract with TNA was coming to an end, and after he dropped the TNA World Championship to Nic Nemeth at Slammiversary, many expected him to sign with the sports entertainment giant.

Mike Santana has competed in WWE NXT earlier

Due to WWE’s working relationship with TNA, Mike Santana made quite a few appearances on NXT last year. He faced several names from the Stamford-based promotion’s developmental brand during this period.

Santana also squared off against Trick Williams for the TNA World title but fell to a defeat. However, he did lead Team TNA to a win over Team NXT at Showdown, last eliminating Ricky Saints to win the match.

He then beat Trick Williams for the TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory. Since then, he has competed on NXT one more time, teaming up with OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) to beat DarkState back in March.
