Zayn took to Instagram today to share a photo of himself hugging his wife following his victory at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The SmackDown star noted that he was “almost there” in reference to capturing the title. You can check out his heartfelt message in the Instagram post below.

Drew McIntyre became champion by defeating Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match earlier this month on SmackDown. The American Nightmare was supposed to battle Jacob Fatu at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but the match devolved into a brawl. McIntyre attacked both stars at WWE SNME and Powerbombed Rhodes through a table.

Sami Zayn shared a message to the crowd last night at Saturday Night’s Main Event after he won the Fatal 4-Way match.

He stated that he needed momentum to become champion and thanked the audience for having his back. Zayn noted that the crowd was screaming at the top of their lungs for him during the match and that he wouldn’t have been able to emerge victorious if it were not for them.

“I’m proud to be your guy. What I need more than anything in the world to become a champion is momentum. Momentum. And I keep telling myself that I wouldn’t have the momentum I have right now if it wasn’t for you—if it wasn’t for this city and everyone screaming at the top of their lungs. So thank you for that. Thank you so much, Montreal. I love you,” Zayn said.

It will be interesting to see if Sami Zayn can defeat Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble 2026 to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion.
