However, The Samoan Werewolf clarified that he wouldn’t give up his dream of holding the coveted title. This week, the former United States Champion confronted Reigns again and claimed that The Bloodline didn’t want him in WWE, and Solo Sikoa brought him into the company.
Reigns refuted Fatu’s claim and revealed that Sikoa wasn’t influential enough to help him land a job in WWE. The OTC shockingly disclosed that he approved The Samoan Werewolf’s signing.
During the promo, Reigns undermined the WWE storyline, which suggested that nobody in The Bloodline wanted Jacob Fatu to join the company because he was too dangerous. However, Sikoa trusted him to make it big. The creative team constantly pushed the idea that Reigns & Co. had nothing to do with Fatu’s arrival in the promotion.
Reigns contradicted the abovementioned angle by claiming he was responsible for the powerhouse’s signing. He also buried Solo Sikoa with his claim on RAW. For those unaware, The Street Champion of the Island betrayed Reigns after WrestleMania XL and anointed himself The Tribal Chief.
The OTC and the former NXT champion engaged in a heated rivalry for months, which ended when Roman Reigns defeated Sikoa on RAW’s Netflix debut. WWE spent years building Sikoa as the next major villain. However, Reigns portrayed the MFT leader as an afterthought in his promo.
Sikoa has been unable to become a main event talent since the conclusion of The Bloodline Civil War. The OTC’s promo could further hamper his former rival’s standing on the roster and affect his future on TV.
Jacob Fatu defeated Solo Sikoa after challenging Roman Reigns on RAW
Jacob Fatu returned to WWE SmackDown after challenging Roman Reigns for the world title last week on RAW. MFT, led by Solo Sikoa, interrupted Fatu’s promo segment with The Usos on the blue show. During the exchange, Tama Tonga claimed that The Samoan Werewolf didn’t stand a chance against Reigns since he couldn’t defeat Sikoa in the past.
The former MLW World Heavyweight Champion challenged Sikoa to a singles match in the main event of the show. Fatu destroyed The Street Champion of the Island and beat him in a 10-plus-minute back-and-forth contest. In the process, he avenged his loss to the MFT leader in a United States Title bout at SummerSlam 2025.
Fatu is now set to challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash on May 9, 2026. He brutally attacked the OTC to make a massive statement before the showdown on this week’s RAW. Can he defeat Reigns for the gold in Tampa? Only time will tell.
