Ripley was struggling with a leg injury, which she suffered at Clash in Italy in her match against Jade Cargill, and it seems that she is still not ready to be cleared.
Despite this, she recently shared a photo of herself in the gym, which shows that she has been putting the time in and will be returning in the best shape of her career.
Rhea Ripley has no return timeline
It’s a surprise given that Ripley is the current Women’s Champion, but it seems that she has no return timeline following her injury.
It was Mami herself who revealed that the injury was much worse than originally believed before it was announced that she would then miss SummerSlam. WWE has kept her return plans close to its chest, since it’s still unknown how long she will be out of action for.
It will be interesting to see how she fits back into the show when she does return, since she is still the Women’s Champion but there will be a new Women’s Champion crowned.
Much like when CM Punk walked away with the title and Rey Mysterio became the new champion, it seems that Rhea Ripley will be forced to go up against the winner of this weekend’s match to determine who the real champion is.
The idea of this, instead of stripping Rhea Ripley of the title, has led to some backlash from WWE fans, who believe that the title should have been taken from her and a new champion should have been crowned this weekend at SummerSlam.
Hopefully there is a much bigger plan in place for Ripley when she returns that makes this make sense, rather than her stepping into a feud with the new champion and quickly defeating them.
