Zelina Vega actually started managing her real-life husband following his victory over Damian Priest in a Last Man Standing Match in October last year. In contrast to her husband, Zelina actually won some gold during her second run with the Stamford-based company. She defeated Chelsea Green last year to become the second Women’s United States Champion.

After getting released from WWE, wrestlers have to follow a 90-day non-compete clause that will be over soon for both Zelina and her husband. The couple are set for free agency and dropped a bombshell video. Zelina had recently trademarked the name “Xelina” which she seemingly confirmed as her new name by using it on the thumbnail of the YouTube video she posted. The video featured Zelina interact with her alter ego and it also had Aleister Black in it. The YouTube video featured both stars in a dark setting and seemed like a teaser for Zelina’s future character.

Zelina Vega first joined the Stamford-based promotion back in 2017 and started managing Andrade “Cien” Almas in NXT. She managed Andrade all the way to the main roster and was released for the first time back in 2020. However, she returned to the company just 8 months later and even became Queen of the Ring.

She was released for the second-time along with her husband just a few days after WrestleMania. On her Twitch stream, Zelina revealed that she found out about her release via a call from TKO. She described it as a “very telling” incident.

It’s always unfortunate when a wrestler loses their job. Fans across the world have been wishing Zelina the best and are looking forward to see her compete elsewhere.
