Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that the former WWE Champion has been busy filming his remaining scenes for the Highlander reboot in Scotland. McIntyre has been cast in Chad Stahelski’s Highlander and will star as Angus MacLeod, brother to Henry Cavill’s character Connor MacLeod.

The filming for the movie began in 2026, and McIntyre has been involved in shooting for the movie in the last few months. His commitment to the project also cast a doubt over his appearance at WrestleMania 42, but he was able to balance his schedule.

At the moment, it remains unclear when he will return to WWE. He won the Undisputed Championship at the start of this year against Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match.

However, he couldn’t hold the Title until WrestleMania 42, losing to the American Nightmare on the March 6 episode of SmackDown after interference from Jacob Fatu.

Drew McIntyre was excited to hear his old WWE theme

Recently, Drew McIntyre posted a video of himself at WWE World during WrestleMania 42. The Scottish star was taking a stroll when he heard his old entrance theme “Broken Dreams” playing in a nearby building.

He wasted no time in making his way to the building, surprising the fans and firing them up. In the caption of the video, he wrote that hearing the theme activated him like Winter Soldier from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“Broken Dreams” was his theme during his first run in WWE. He brought the theme back for his match against Roman Reigns at Clash at the Castle in 2022. But the theme hasn’t been used since despite Drew McIntyre publicly pushing for it.
