On a recent edition of Busted Open, Raquel Rodriguez discussed how performing at live events helped her prepare for TV segments and matches. Big Mami Cool also revealed that she wanted WWE to book her for more house shows.

“I will say the reps help, too. For the past year, I’ve been on the road a lot. I’ve been doing a lot of the live events. I’ve been overseas. I’ve been asking to do more and more events where I can, just to get the reps in. And, I mean, the reps really do count. They really do help,” Rodriguez said.

The Judgment Day member added that building a strong relationship with the audience helped performers and their on-screen storylines.

“It’s building that connection with the fans, too. It’s being out there and putting your face out there and putting your name out there and putting your personality out there, and letting the fans really grasp onto what you bring to the table, pretty much. I think that all helps overall when it comes to our talent, our storylines, and what we want to do as a company as a whole.” [H/T: Ringside News]

Raquel Rodriguez has been training with a WWE legend

Raquel Rodriguez has arguably been among WWE’s most consistent female wrestlers in recent years. She has significantly improved in the ring and is known for delivering hard-hitting matches on television. Big Mami Cool was rewarded for her hard work when she won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Sol Ruca last month.

During the same conversation on Busted Open, Rodriguez revealed that she had been training with her father’s former tag team partner and WWE legend Nattie. The Judgment Day member added that she also watched film on veteran wrestlers and overseas wrestling to improve her in-ring work.

Big Mami Cool has yet to defend the Women’s Intercontinental Championship since winning it on RAW in Inglewood. It will be interesting to see which star challenges Rodriguez for the gold in the coming days.
