Danhausen asked the fellow SmackDown star if he was okay, to which he replied with his old catchphrase, “You Know It!”, suggesting that Cardona had also gone back to his older self after getting electrocuted, just like Kit Wilson and The Miz.
Matt Cardona continued to tease reverting back to his Zack Ryder persona with a social media update. He posted pictures from the SmackDown segment and noted that he was feeling strange since the incident.
“I’ve been feeling a bit strange since getting electrocuted last Friday on #SmackDown in @danhausenad’s lab…” Cardona wrote.
You can check out his post below:
Matt Cardona made a massive claim about his old WWE persona
In an interview with Metro UK, Matt Cardona spoke about portraying the Zack Ryder character during his previous run with WWE.
The Indie God acknowledged that his character in WWE was the reason he was able to thrive on the independent circuit. However, he claimed that the old needed to die in order for the new one to be built.
“Zack Ryder, that’s the reason I was able to be Matt Cardona on the independents and thrive. Zack Ryder needed to die for Matt Cardona to live. And I’m back now, right? I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for everything I did as Zack Ryder, then everything I did on the independents as Matt Cardona. It’s all me at the end,” Cardona said.
Matt Cardona is currently on an unfortunate losing streak on Friday Night SmackDown. He has constantly been trying to somehow get to winning ways. It will be interesting to see what plans the creative team has in place for the former Zack Ryder.
