Heading into the final round of the St. Jude Championship, the PGA Tour provided an updated look at the FedExCup Playoffs standings. The top 50 golfers in the playoffs standings advanced to the BMW Championship, and Fowler sat just above the cut line at No. 49 ahead of Sunday’s final round at the St. Jude Championship.

In other words, Fowler had little margin for error on Sunday. Fowler climbed the St. Jude leaderboard to T6 with a 9-under par score through the first three rounds.

The golfer proved the pressure did not impact his play as Fowler notched a 69 in the final round to finish T6 at the St. Jude Championship with a score of 10-under par. Fowler’s stellar play moved him up the FedExCup Playoffs standings to advance to the BMW Championship.

Fowler has about 10 million reasons to keep his foot on the gas. The winner of the TOUR Championship lands a $10 million check.

“We’re in the mix,” Fowler told reporters on Saturday. “We’ll kind of see where guys finish up. We’ll be within hopefully decent distance where go put together another solid front nine and see if we can get ourselves in the mix for the back nine and final few holes and give ourselves a chance.

“But it’s going to take a good round of golf. We’ll focus on trying to chase our way up the board. I need to play well tomorrow to get myself into next week. We’ll focus on one thing and just playing some good golf.”
