Despite being suspended indefinitely for putting his hands on Rey Mysterio, Omos made his presence felt at Ola de Calor this past weekend. He was spotted at ringside during a contract signing between Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano for TripleMania 34.

During the segment, Dorian Roldán asked Rey Mysterio to lift Omos’ suspension. In fact, Dominik Mysterio refused to put pen to paper unless his father lifted the Nigerian Giant’s suspension.

The Master of 619 wasn’t too thrilled to see the 7-foot-3 WWE star. He confronted Omos at ringside, but Omos pulled out a ticket and patted him on the head. An irate Rey Mysterio then laid his hands on Omos, forcing El Grande Americano to pull him back.

Dominik Mysterio saw the opportunity and attacked his TripleMania 34 opponent. The segment ended with WWE icon Rey Mysterio throwing down a challenge to Omos for a singles match at TripleMania 34 Night 1. However, it won’t be an ordinary match.

If Omos wins, he will be reinstated into Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, but if he loses, then he will be gone from WWE’s sister promotion forever.

In an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda Wrestling on behalf of Casino Guru, Omos said he would love to end Rey Mysterio’s in-ring career.

“Oh, of course. I’d like to put that little general manager out of his misery and send him home packing. Pretty much his son hates him, so add me to the list because he’s a little thorn in my side that I cannot wait to get rid of. So absolutely, I would love to.”

Omos talks about working with WWE icon The Undertaker in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide

During the conversation, Omos was all praise for WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker and said he would have loved to form a tag team with him when he was an active in-ring performer.

“Being under the tutelage of The Undertaker has been nothing short of amazing. I wish I had a tag team with [him] in the ring when he was a worker, because I just think him being so athletic, we could have just had some amazing bangers, but God did not want it to be that way. So, the other way that I can still get some of that is to learn under the history of a legend and just have him direct me more as a producer, more like a master. He’s my Yoda and I’m trying to learn. It’s been phenomenal because he has a ton of wisdom and he’s one of the very best of the businessmen.”

He added:

“Everybody talks about The Rock, Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, but for me, he’s at the very top of everybody because it’s extremely hard to play a dead man for 22 years and people still believe it. I mean it’s very, very challenging. He still makes it feel real and alive and plus; I love that dude he’s just really, really cool. When he walked out it was a different feel. It felt so ethereal to everything else, and it felt so different. There’s a certain magic that he was able to capture that I don’t think anybody’s been able to capture and every time he makes a surprise appearance, I still get chills and the goosebumps because there’s nothing like it.”

The Nigerian Giant may not get to share the ring with The Phenom, but he now has the opportunity to work closely with him behind the scenes.
