Real Madrid have officially announced that defender Eder Militao has undergone successful surgery on his hamstring injury today.
“Our player Eder Militao underwent successful surgery today for a ruptured proximal tendon of the biceps femoris muscle in his left leg,” the statement read.

“The operation was performed by Dr. Lasse Lempainen under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Militao will begin his rehabilitation in the coming days.”
Militao suffered his hamstring injury in win against Deportivo Alaves last week, when he had to be taken off after starting the match at centre-back.
Initially, it was thought the issue might not be serious but tests confirmed a major problem which needed him to undergo surgery or continue at the risk of future relapses.
As such, Militao went under the knife today in Finland and he will not play for Real Madrid this season as well as for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In fact, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid do not expect Militao to be back in action until October, meaning he will miss two months at the start of the new season as well.
The situation is far from ideal for Real Madrid, who are growing concerned about the Brazilian defender’s constant fitness problems.
